RIFTEC´s „Round Robin 2022“ - Invitation

Our "Round Robin 2022" - a comparison of different joining methods. Be part of it with your expertise.

Dear colleagues of joining technology,

As a die-hard friction stir welder we think outside the box today. We would like to know which differences arise when joining exactly the same component using different joining processes. Who does best with which test method? What about the carbon footprint? Is there actually a “best” joining process?

We already compared friction stir welding, laser beam welding, MIG and laser-MIG hybrid welding on a small scale in a first attempt. But we do not consider the results to be 100% meaningful.

We now would like to start RIFTEC‘s round robin test - and you are cordially invited to take part in it.

RIFTEC's „Round Robin 2022“ is a comparison of different joining processes. You will be the responsible joining specialist in your respective field. We will ask you to join aluminium hollow chamber profiles, which we will of course provide you with free of charge.
